hey everyone. just an update – caught up on all of the mailorder. get at me if there was an issue with anything, but everyone should have their stuff right now (unless you’ve ordered within the past week or so). millions of stupid excuses as to why it took so long for me to catch up, but sorry either way.
banquet records has the dave house “intersections” LPs, for anyone that pre-ordered in the UK. you should have those soon. if you have been waiting, please direct death threats to sean@asianmanrecords.com, NOT banquet!
higher giant made wonkavision magazine‘s list of ‘top 10 bands to look out for in 2010′. expect some words with those homies in the forthcoming issue!
spraynard‘s new LP, “cut and paste” is available for free download at ifyoumakeit.com. while your there, why not check out dave house’s pink couch session?
also, bearings is on tour. i have been listening to them a lot lately. them and punch (san francisco hardcore). love both!

on a more serious note unrelated to runner up, everyone that lives in the united states should be aware of the legal war that is currently being fought in california to decide the fate of proposition 8, which explicitly invalidates same sex marriage in the state. i just came back from a rally near the san francisco courthouse, and i want to let everyone know how intense this situation is becoming. things feel like they are boiling over. there have been a lot of tears as countless loving relationships are formally being called into question. even as a straight man, this hurts to watch in a way that’s hard to describe.
i just want to encourage everyone to keep an ear to the ground and follow this trial as best you can. this is a moment to seize – one in which we can stomp out this kind of crass, hateful legislation for good by sending the message to other states that homophobia won’t be met with apathy.
now that this has officially entered the legal realm, there isn’t much that can be done to sway things one way or another, this won’t come down to a popular vote. we can, however, stay furious and vocal throughout the proceedings. if you live in an area where this isn’t getting much coverage, try to spread the word about what’s happening. a quick google search for “prop 8 trial” should bring the most recent developments in the trial.
